Jeffree Star Kat Von D Social Media Battle Is Back. The two have been battling it out for two years.
Tattoo artist and entrepreneur Kat Von D took to social media in July 2016 to publicly demolish her longtime friendship with makeup artist and fashion designer Jeffree Star. Since then, Star has fired back with an attack
of his own on YouTube. What did they say, and what exactly caused all this drama in the first place?
Despite Jeffree appearing on an episode of Kat’s TV show LA Ink back in 2011 as one of her closest friends, and Jeffree having a body covered in her tattoos, the two had a very public fall out back in 2016.
The argument, which played out on social media, saw Kat upload a video to her YouTube channel accusing Jeffree of stealing artwork for his makeup line, from her friend, BJ.
As for Star, he has since turned his attention to other things, like the launch of his new liquid lipstick collection. After the release of Von D’s video, his YouTube subscriber count plummeted below 2 million within hours, but since the situation has been resolved, that number has been steadily climbing, and has topped 2 million again. “Another chapter closed,” he tweeted. “I have a huge launch for my brand and this won’t be ruining it. Love you all. We guess the old saying is true—any publicity is good publicity!
The feud continued earlier this year, when Jeffree accused Kat of profiting off his name by continuing to sell her liquid lipstick called ‘Jeffree’, despite previously saying it would be removed from sale.
On Tuesday night, Jeffree came for Kat again, after fellow YouTuber Kathleen Lights asked her followers what they thought about KVD Beauty.
After a controversial year, which saw Kat widely slated for stating she would not be vaccinating her unborn child, it’s fair to say the people of Twitter went IN on their responses.
Jumping in, Jeffree posted a shady Tweet about Kat’s line being discounted and sold in TJ Maxx. ” KVD will be a TJ MAXXX exclusive in 2019 I heard!! ” Seeing as Kat has just given birth to her first child, we highly doubt she has the time, or the energy to jump on Twitter and respond, but Jeffree did take to Instagram Stories to clarify his shady sense of humour.
