When Kim Kardashian launched KKW Beauty a lot of people accused her of imitating off of her sisters: Kylie Cosmetics. But then people backed off a bit because Kim released her contour sticks – we all know she’s the Contour Queen – which is an item that was not found in the Kylie Cosmetics line. But we must agree that Kim is realy hard working and created a excellent beauty collection. Kim Kardashian revealed that she was working on a makeup collaboration with her long-term makeup artist, Mario Dedivanovic.

And it turns out that the collection is a lot closer to Kim and Mario’s heart than you may have given them credit for. In fact the release has been timed to exactly coincide with the anniversary of their 10-year working relationship. In a lengthy post on Instagram, Mario shared a picture of his work diary from 2008, sharing the very first time he ever met and worked with Kim.
“Never let anyone dictate the trajectory of your life and career. The past decade with Kim has been incredible. We’ve grown together, set trends, inspired and impacted an industry along the way. Through all her milestones and achievements and through her rise to global superstardom she has taken me along the way and impacted my life greatly, helping me to achieve unparalleled success of my own as a celebrity makeup artist. I am so excited to finally announce that on April 5, 2018 – exactly 10 years to the day we met, our #KKWxMARIO collaboration with @kkwbeauty will launch!” – says Mario
Mario had already given a few teasers as to what the collection would include, after he gave a breakdown of Kim’s Vogue India cover shoot makeup look. Revealing that their collaboration consisted of an eyeshadow palette – “A wash of warm toned eyeshadow and a golden shade to highlight both the brow bone and inner corner of the eyes” – lipstick and lip gloss. And now the pair have finally released their campaign images, with Kim revealing it’s a collection of their favourite eye and lip shades.
