The fashion code for manicure of the season autumn-winter 2018 is simplicity. Unlike previous seasons, this time designers focused on simple and comfortable manicure variants that do not require a long time for application and which can be easily replicated at home. If we single out the main trends then this is 1. Short length, 2. Oval and almond shaped; 3. Colors – black, shades of red and nude; 4. Textures – gloss, metallic; 5. Design – geometry.
The Main Manicure Trends In Autumn-Winter 2018
1. Short Nails
The manicurists have shortened the models’ nails at the shows almost at the level of the fingertips with a strong decisiveness to abandon the traditional gender attributes. If you are not ready for such a radical decision, then leave the length when the nail protrudes no more than 2-3 mm. Longer nails are appropriate only if you got the almond-shaped nail plate.

2. Oval And Almond-Shaped
There are some basic nail shapes which are always in trendy and never lose their relevance. The one of these is the oval shape. This season, oval nails lead the rest leaving a soft square behind. Another variation of the oval is the almond shape. It got its name due to the fact that the nail is given the shape of the almond kernel (the oval which is slightly narrower at the end).

3. Red Nails
Red color has become the most fashionable in manicure as well as in the clothes. There were all the shades of red color presented on the podium, ranging from bright scarlet to dark wine. Red manicure is an eternal classics. They also symbolize sexuality.

4. Black Nails

7. Glitter
Glitter is a great variant of the festive manicure. Glitter is a shiny crumb which makes flickering effect to the nails. It can be used for completely covering the nail plate or selecting its separate fragment, for example, only from above.

7. A Strip
This season, the nail art has appeared before us in the shape of geometric elements. A laconic thin strip is especially popular. It can be drawn or made by using ready-made stickers.

8. Emphasis On One Nail
Another trendy specialty is the manicure with the emphasis on a certain nail. This means you can choose a polish shade for one nail which is different from the shade on the other nails. Or just apply an application, glitter or painting on it. In general, you have to highlight one nail among the rest somehow.

9. Rhinestones
Rhinestones on the nails have also received a minimalistic performance this season. Now they don’t cover the whole nail plate but form small jewelry compositions. Following this trend, the best way is to place stones or rhinestones just on one nail, leaving the rest of the nails covered only with polish.
